ON faced strong competition in the category of ‘Culture and practice’; from the Department of Defence, Department of Finance and Trade and the Department of Social Services.

‘ON, powered by CSIRO’ was recognised for the impact the national sci-tech accelerator is having on changing culture and practice across Australia’s publicly funded research sector to move from a world of powerful knowledge creation to translation of that knowledge to real-world impact at pace.

Liza Noonan, Enterprise Executive Manager, Strategy Market Vision & Innovation said "Less than a year ago, the ON team set out on a mission to expand the national sci-tech accelerator to all Australian Universities and Public funded Research agencies.’

“While we anticipated demand, what we couldn’t have predicted was the overwhelmingly positive response we’ve had from Australia’s research and innovation community.’

She said “I'm very proud of what this Award represents – supporting our achievements and work to encourage translation of big ideas into truly world changing impact. Together we can unleash our innovation capability, to continue to accelerate great science and technology research in to positive impact for future generations.”
