Dr Steve Brodie

Dr Steve Brodie, Executive Manager Innovation

Executive Manager Innovation, Dr Steve Brodie is one of Australia’s most well respected research commercialisation specialists. Steve brings more than 20 years’ experience in research and development, commercialisation and open innovation, fostering incredible relationships for ON. Steve’s no slouch when it comes to sci-tech research and development himself, having designed a new high-temperature vibration sensor for use in rocket and jet engines while at the Ferroperm Piezoceramics in Denmark. We like to consider him our resident rocket scientist.

David’s role within ON is varied, working as a designer, facilitator and coach across both ON Prime and ON Accelerate programs. Over the last three years David has helped teams in every domain of science and in every scale - not many people work across both nanotechnology and astronomy – and keeps close watch of ON alumni, helping them along the path to success in creating new business ventures based on their technology and research. Outside of ON, David sits on the board of Planet Ark as a Non-Executive Director and teaches strategy and innovation at the University of Sydney.

Working for ON, Cam relishes the opportunity he has to engage with and encourage universities - and their developing research teams - to get ‘ON’ board, meeting new people and networking across the country. Cameron’s history in innovation goes way back to his time at university, where he was part of a team that won QUT’s inaugural innovation competition for the design of a novel orthopaedic tool.

Kate Milton

Kate Milton joined the ON team in February 2018, in the role of Communications Officer. No day is ever the same with this creative team, with Kate working on anything from program content, web development and event planning. Even the location doesn’t stay the same, as the team could be in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane on any given week! With a background in journalism, she enjoyed diving into the world of innovation during her time living in London, running strategic innovation workshops for corporate teams. She’s excited to get to see innovation at the source working with the ON research teams. In her free time, Kate likes to eat and travel – if she’s doing both at the same time, even better!
